Spring is a time of activity in the garden. The warmer weather, higher Sun in the sky and the Spring dew are all signs for plants to begin a new growth cycle. This includes weeds.
Whilst there are some steps we can take to mitigate the weed problem, what we cannot do is change nature. Many weeds are carried through seeds, blown in the wind, carried underfoot or placed through bird droppings. Some weeds grow through underground stems as a function of their reproductive system. Some have extremely deep roots whilst others not so.
Whatever the cause, most gardeners especially lawn lovers want weeds out. Not only do they spoil a lawn aesthetic but they also spread through their own reproductive activity and need for survival.
What steps can we take to eradicate the dreaded weed?
